Forni Industriali Bendotti has recently signed an <strong>important contract with Duferco Travi e Profilati<\/strong>, European leader for the production of steel beams and long products. Forni Industriali Bendotti will supply for the San Zeno Naviglio plant (Brescia, Italy) a <strong>new walking beam furnace equipped with innovative hydromethane burners<\/strong>, further contributing to decarbonizing the production process.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;First of all, Forni Industriali Bendotti is proud to be part of the new project of Duferco Travi e Profilati, since nowadays it is the most important investment in the iron and steel field in Italy&#8217; \u2013 said <strong>Michele Bendotti, FIB CEO<\/strong>. &#8216;The strong relationship with Duferco goes back to the early 2000s when FIB supplied the 120 tph WBF for slabs at Verona Steel (now belonging to NLMK Group) and the 125 tph WBF for beam blank at Giammoro plant, which still represents the state of the art of technology, having <strong>exclusive features<\/strong> like the water-cooled internal rollerway for side discharge and the stack equipped with a cooling tower. Thanks to Duferco&#8217;s vision for the future \u2013 added the CEO \u2013 the new furnace will be <strong>the first prefab walking beam furnace designed for hydrometane as the main fuel<\/strong>&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Without taking anything from the other competitors, <strong>Bendotti was the best choice for us<\/strong>&#8216; \u2013 said <strong>Augusto Gozzi, CEO of Duferco Travi e Profilati<\/strong>. &#8216;Not only from a technological point of view but also concerning <strong>delivery time<\/strong>s. Bendotti is a global leader in prefabrication&#8217;, which guarantees a very short time during the erection and the startup of the furnace, &#8216;a key aspect for us&#8217; \u2013 added Gozzi. \u2018Using hydrogen or hydrometan instead of methane is a possibility we discussed with <strong>Bendotti<\/strong>, which was absolutely <strong>available to supply specific technological solutions<\/strong>.
